2021 Job Opening at Evans Accident Reconstruction: Accident reconstruction associate

Business is going well at our small accident reconstruction firm, and we are looking for a self-motivated, hardworking employee to join us as we grow.  (To learn more about our firm and accident reconstruction, go to www.EvansAR.com.)

The individual hired for the accident reconstruction associate position will do field work, assisting with accident site surveys and vehicle inspections. The AR associate will also assist in making drawings and exhibits that will be used in the accident reconstruction process, conduct research, and perform other case-related tasks. The AR associate will also meet with attorneys and learn how our legal system operates.

Evans Accident Reconstruction will provide training for the tasks above as well as training in drone use and private investigation so that our employee can become licensed with the state.

Automotive experience, such as involvement in vehicle repair, modification, or racing is not required but is strongly preferred. A college degree related to engineering (preferred), math, or physics is best but not necessary. A person with a law enforcement background such as a former police officer would also be a good candidate. The ideal candidate would be proficient with computer programs such as AutoCAD, Photoshop, and Excel and have experience with video editing and computer animation ̶ -or possess a desire and capability to learn quickly.

The candidate who is chosen will perform the following tasks:

  • Forensic investigations of motor vehicle accidents
  • Traveling (mainly driving) to accident sites and vehicle inspections, usually day trips
  • Researching vehicles and other case information
  • Creating drawings, Power Point presentations, reports, computer modeling collisions, and animations to help show clients, and potentially jurors, the events surrounding an accident
  • Using video editing software such as Adobe Premiere to analyze videos (such as police dash cams and security cameras) or to make a video containing case photographs or testing

Candidates must be able to do physical work outdoors (during all seasons, including Texas summers!) such as carrying cones and walking long distances. Note that while many trips are “day trips” without overnight hotel stays, you will often get back into town late in the evenings when traveling; this is not a solely 8-5 job.
